Customer Reviews: Entertaining, but shortJuly 27, 2010 Jo I felt that for like 13 dollars plus shipping that I would get a longer story. It's like 98 pages, but most of it is filled with giant pictures. It took me less than an hour to read. However, the quality of the artistry does make me think it was worth it. The pages are not made out of a cheap material. They're durable and have a glossy finish to them.
Now, the story itself. It's almost entirely flashbacks which for me made it a little slow-paced. I kept thinking, "all right, when's the real plot coming?" But, in retrospect, the flashbacks were enjoyable enough. There is some funny banter, and it's nice to learn some unaired details like how Spock learned about Kirk's real death.
Anyway, overall, I give this a thumbs up. If you like Star Trek and are interested in some of the details of Spock's adventures, buy it.
Fantastic Artwork and StoryApril 21, 2010 SciFiChick(Fishers, IN USA) On a mysterious journey from Romulus to Federation territory, Spock reflects on his life and what brought him to his current situation - bringing Vulcan philosopher Surak's teachings to the Romulans. Spocks reflections highlight his life from his childhood on Vulcan, to his station aboard the Enterprise under Captains Pike and Kirk, to his recent quest to bring unification to the sister races of Vulans and Romulans.
I have been very impressed with the Star Trek comics that IDW has been producing; and this one is no exception. Artist David Messina does a fantastic job of rendering several familiar characters as well as new, and adding scenes and images that speak just as loud as words. Star Trek fans should certainly enjoy this poignant graphic novel. It's an absorbing and heart-tugging story about one of Star Trek's most interesting characters.

This was very well done graphic novel. This book we can see Spock looking back at choices he made thoughout his life before and after Starfleet. There is questions I have had in my mind about Spock that got answered in this book. Also there is a certain Guest star that pops up in the story that I was suprised to see pop up.
The author did a superb job with the writing and the artist did a excellent job in my opinion capturing Spock's likeness from young to old. This is a book for anyone who is a Star trek fan, A fan of Spock or both. I highly recommend this to anyone who likes stories that answer questions that you have had and the author answers them in their interpertation.
