Editorial Reviews:
Product Description On the heels of last year's sold-out STAR TREK: SHIPS OF THE LINE 2001 Wall Calendar comes the all-new 2002 edition!
The calendar features 12 original, never-before-seen full-color renderings of the most famous ships of Starfleet--including the Starship Enterprise, Starship Voyager, and the Starship Defiant--Borg vessels, birds-of-prey and more. All the images were specially created for this calendar by Adam "Mojo" Lebowitz and Robert Bonchume, illustrators of 2001's spectacular volume. Includes an original, 12x24 black-and-white, bird's-eye-view 'photograph' of the Enterprise and Challenger in flight.
A good calenderMarch 20, 2002 Chris Barnes(Manhasset, NY United States) It's a pretty good calender, but some of the image choices are dissapointing... extra images in the back are nice.
Out of foucs - Foundation needs glassesMarch 9, 2002 Wendel Kirkbride(Holladay, UT United States) The previous calendar was, well, a work of true art! However, in this version, Foundation has added, haze, fog, blurriness, black & white . . anything to hide the true beauty. Only the picture for Jan 2002 is fantastic.
Not only that, Foundation messed up on the Galaxy class ship in the center fold out. It was labeled Challenger but someone forgot to delete the "enterprise" name & registry from the rest of the picture.
I sure hope they fix their problems. This calendar is a "pass" in my book.
What the heck happened???February 5, 2002 Rick Broida(Commerce Township, MI USA) Last year's Ships of the Line calendar was beyond spectacular. This year's is bizarre, boring, and genuinely disappointing. Here's hoping they bring back the 2001 artist for 2003.
Someone's bad idea of "art," mislabeledJanuary 29, 2002 Looking for Wisdom(Denver, Colorado USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I expected a CLEAR image of different ships in Star Trek or in the Federation. Instead, the calendar contains artsy shots of lots of shuttles lined up so that you see only a piece of each, or very blurry images of a starship flying by. I think whoever executed this calendar should have to refund money to all who bought it. It is badly, badly mismarketed. I already gave mine away at a "white elephant" exchange.
Worst pix ever in a calendar!January 24, 2002 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Did this escape through a rip in the fabric of space/time, from a parallel dimension where marketing bad, blurry pictures is a good idea?!
We can usually expect only the highest quality when the Star Trek name is attached to something, but this one is a real failure. Next time....less artistic "vision" and more crisp, clear pictures of the ships we want to admire.
